This blog begins in the middle of a journey that began more than two years ago when my father-in-law approached my husband about the "Golf Trip of a Lifetime" The proposed foursome included me, my husband Brian (aka Bidy), sister-in-law Carrie (aka Kiwi) and father-in-law David (aka Dad). The vision was an awe inspiring 14 days of golf in the birth place of the game, Scotland. After much discussion of how many rounds would be played (12 for the girls and 15 for the guys) and which courses to play (yes, the Old Course at St. Andrews is on the list) the trip has been schedule. Now comes the easy part, being mentally and physically prepared for the greatest game ever played.

I have compared this to to a marathon. Every marathon must start with training, a golf marathon must start with a training schedule and setting up a USGA handicap. We have selected Coffin Golf Club as our 'Home Course' for our travel abroad. It is an affordable course with beautiful views of White River and close to home. (A more detailed review of this course will follow later.)
